The Big Move Part 2

We arrived in Seattle on a Friday.  May parents came up from Waldport on Saturday to spend time with Elias (and kinda me and Peder too). We also were able to spend an afternoon with many of my childhood friends, "The Chelan Group."  It was great to have Elias meet so many friends.

I had one final class to take at UW before graduation. This week long class involved a lot of podcasts but I did have to spend some time on campus and at Harborview. Capstone was a great opportunity to get to catch up with classmates who I hadn't seen in a while.

During the week Peder took the opportunity to drive our new car over to Boise to do some house hunting.  He had never been to Boise before so finally had the chance to check out his new home for the next 3 years.  He met up with several family friends who were immensely helpful and worked tirelessly to find us a house.  Everything worked out well because the house that he toured his last day in town ended up being the house that we got! He flew back to Seattle just in time for a lecture on campus and an Alaska WWAMI dinner.

As graduation neared, more family came into town. My sister arrived from Portland, my great uncle arrived from Whidbey Island, and the morning of graduation, Peder's parents arrived from Montana.  I felt so loved!
With his namesake, Alfred!

Graduation was a whirlwind! It was fun to celebrate with my classmates, my family, and my friends!

The day after graduation we continued our journey to Boise. We decided to take our time getting from Seattle to Boise by stopping in with our siblings along the way.  Our first stop was Portland!

We spent 2 days in Portland enjoying the beautiful weather, yummy food, and dental appointments.  Peder finally made it to Branch, the whiskey/beer/burger joint near Kalen's house.

After Portland, we headed to Condon to spend time with Jon, Tausha, and our nieces.  Our oldest niece had just graduated high school and it was great to be able to congratulate her in person.  It was also fun for Elias to meet some of his cousins!

After Condon, we made our way to Vale to spend time with Heather and her family.  Our oldest nephew had also just graduated from high school and had recently won the state auto mechanic competition (Spoiler: He just won the national competition!! So exciting!!).

After spending one night in Vale, we finally made it to our new home, Boise!
