Road Trip

This Saturday we took a little road trip.  It wasn't a particularly pretty day but we decided to drive up to the South Denali Viewpoint.  Unfortunately, we didn't realize that they don't plow the viewpoint parking lot so we just pulled off on the side of the road with several other cars.  It was cloudy and we couldn't see the mountain but it was a nice drive.

When we arrived we unpacked the baby so I could feed him. Prior to feeding him I attempted a backseat diaper change.   This was a horrifying experience as Elias had managed to have the BIGGEST BLOWOUT EVER!  There was poop everywhere! Thank goodness none got on the carseat and we had brought a change of clothes for him. After we cleaned up the baby and I fed him, we ventured out of the car.

This was also kind of a "conditioning" drive for Elias.  We have our big move to Boise coming up in May.  Elias usually does great in the car.  He often fusses in his carseat but once we get going, he calms right down.  Most of the car ride he slept or calmly played with his toys.

After being in the car for 4+ hours he got a bit cranky.

That little face cracks me up and breaks my heart at the same time!
Next road trip we are headed south!
